My Approach to Massage Therapy

The experience and knowledge gained from working in clinical settings and resort spas has influenced my holistic approach to deeply relax the nervous system, encourage a better range of motion and release tension and discomfort throughout the body.

Specialties include:

Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy and Muscle Energy Technique. Upon request, I like to incorporate techniques such as Reiki, Cupping and Gua-Sha to aid in the sessions healing experience.

About Samantha Held

Growing up in Seattle, I was the friend who was always ready with a hug. If you were having a rough day or weren’t feeling well, I’d rub your shoulders hoping to give you some comfort. From a young age I instinctively understood transference and the relationship between energy and the physical body.

At the age of 18 my mother was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Watching her battle through all that western medicine had to offer was arduous, and thankfully, she persevered. Five years later when the Cancer came back, she decided to take an alternative route by treating the body holistically. She took action and again, she triumphed. This opened my eyes to a different way of caring for and supporting the body.

A few years later I was dealing with some aches and pains from nearly a decade of working on my feet in the service industry, I stumbled upon an Acupuncturist and soon after that first session I became enamored by all the different types of bodywork. I enrolled in the

Northwest Academy for the Healing Arts in 2016 and naturally took to Massage. I quickly decided I wanted to help people feel more comfortable in their bodies through treatment work, and after graduating I pursued that focus by largely seeing clients with repetitive use/overuse injuries, motor vehicle accidents, sports injuries, mental illnesses and autoimmune diseases.

Early in 2019 I moved out of the city across the mountains looking for a quieter setting and found myself working at a Four Diamond Resort Spa. There I primarily saw clients looking to deeply relax and unwind from their busy schedules. I worked to refine different techniques to help calm the nervous system while soothing aching muscles. After being immersed in both of these settings

I’ve found a way to bring the two together for a balanced Massage no matter what the focus.

In Oct of 2020 I opened my own practice, Vital Massage, with the help of friends at The Skin Firm where I am currently renting a room. Here I work with all kinds of clients seeking to relieve their individual needs. I’ve created a calming space to unwind while receiving thoughtful and thorough care resulting in a unique Massage experience I know you will enjoy. If you are looking for a tailored approach to your current state, I would be delighted to work with you.
